5 Great Recruitment Blogs you Should be Read

It’s day 17 of our #TRNadvent, with it being a Saturday and almost the season for people to take time off, it’s always a good idea to keep a good blog to hand, so you’re not completely in the dark when you return in the new year.

It’s never been more important for Recruiters to keep their finger on the pulse in such a fast paced sector. The ebb-and-flow of the market is unpredictable and massive, so any Recruiter who is worth their salt will always keep a handful of great blogs on staff to keep them well informed.

5 things I learned about recruiting in Prague and Bratislava

Last week I was in Central Europe, coaching recruiters in two Masterclasses, but also meeting many local Recruitment Agency owners and managers. The sessions were dominated by Czech and Slovak recruiters, but attendees came from 9 countries across Europe, so we had an excellent cross-section of ideas and discussion. My thanks to Vladimir Klescht and Michal Toman from Engage Advisory who organised my trip, and did so with efficiency and great hospitality.

Balancing Talent and Technology: How To Survive Recruiting’s High Wire Act.

Balancing people and technology is something that managers (and everyone else, for that matter) seems to struggle with, no matter where in the world of work they happen to be working or what industry they’re in.

Of course, striking this balance is in no way limited to simply the office or our professional lives.

5 Benefits of Web-Based Recruitment Software

If you’re considering investing in an Applicant Tracking System (ATS), it’s easy to get overwhelmed by the number of suppliers and various options on the market.
When it comes to choosing your system, before even thinking about which supplier you’d like to work with, you need to think about whether you’d prefer a web-based system or software that’s physically installed on your computer.

How to Start Your Own Recruitment Business

My name is Adam Bolton, and until recently I worked for a recruitment agency – I’d been there for almost 8 years, but I wanted something more.  I wanted to be able to provide more for my children (both in monetary and daddy time!), and decided that the best way for me to do that would be to start up on my own.

Recruitment Websites: A Horse of a Different Color

Recruitment websites are as diverse as the clients who need them. Diversity is vital for survival. We’ve spoken at lengths about the importance of a diverse digital ecosystem, and the message should resonate with recruiters. As recruiters, we know that being a jack-of-all-trades reflects that you are a master of none. Success as a recruiter is often found by finding a niche and becoming as experience and as knowledgeable as possible within that unique area.

Applicant tracking system (ATS): how to start with one

An applicant tracking system, also called a candidate management system, is a software application designed to make recruitment process for enterprises easier and efficient.

An ATS should be able to handle the process of recruitment end to end. It can be used to do job posting, screen and filter job applications or resumes, place an interview request, hire and on-board an employee etc.

Using Deep Learning to Extract Knowledge from Job Descriptions – Introduction (Pt 1 of 5)

At Search Party we are in the business of creating intelligent recruitment software. One of the problems we deal with is matching candidates and vacancies in order to create a recommendation engine. This usually requires parsing, interpreting and normalising messy, semi-/unstructured, textual data from résumés and vacancies.

Mobile Recruitment: A Retailer’s Best Friend

While other areas of the business are quick to adopt mobile, talent acquisition is still far behind. In fact, according to research conducted by The Talent Board this year, only 13% of candidates apply for a job through a mobile device. By ignoring mobile, companies are missing a tremendous opportunity to attract and hire talent. Imagine walking into a store to apply for a position with a paper and pen or having to use a kiosk or store computer. The entire experience is uncomfortable and impersonal.
